Israel–US vs Iran War Day 3: US Fighter Jet Crashes in Kuwait, Explosions Rock Dubai, Hezbollah Joins Conflict

Israel bombed several cities in Iran
Global Conflict Deepens as Israel–US and Iran Exchange Strikes Across Middle East
The Israel–US vs Iran war entered its third day with a rapid escalation across multiple fronts in the Middle East. International media reports and official statements from government agencies confirm intensified airstrikes, missile launches, and drone interceptions across Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and several Gulf nations.
A US fighter jet crashed in Kuwait under circumstances still being investigated, while explosions were reported again in Dubai nearly 16 hours after earlier strikes targeted strategic sites near the city’s port infrastructure.
The regional conflict has now widened beyond direct Israel–Iran hostilities, drawing in Hezbollah from Lebanon and raising fears of a broader Middle East war.

Kuwait: US Fighter Jet Crash Raises Operational Questions
Authorities in Kuwait confirmed that a US military aircraft crashed during active operations. While officials have not publicly detailed whether the crash was combat-related or due to technical failure, the incident occurred amid heightened missile and drone alerts across the Gulf.
The US Embassy in Kuwait issued a security advisory warning of ongoing risks from missile and drone attacks. Citizens were urged to remain vigilant as regional air defense systems remained on high alert.
Defense analysts note that the Gulf region has become increasingly volatile as Iranian retaliation targets US-linked installations.
Dubai Explosions: Air Defense Systems Intercept Drones
Sixteen hours after earlier drone activity near the port area and the vicinity of the Burj Khalifa, fresh explosions were heard across parts of Dubai. According to regional security officials cited by international agencies, air defense systems intercepted multiple suspected drones and incoming projectiles.
Authorities in the UAE have not confirmed the exact origin of the attack but stated that defensive systems neutralized aerial threats before major infrastructure damage could occur.
Explosions were also reported in Doha (Qatar) and Manama (Bahrain), underscoring the expanding geographical footprint of the conflict.
Hezbollah Enters the Conflict
Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah announced that it had launched rocket attacks toward northern Israel in what it described as support for Iran.
In response, Israeli forces expanded operations along the Lebanon border, evacuating approximately 50 villages near southern Lebanon, including areas in Dahiyeh and southern Beirut — long considered Hezbollah strongholds.
Lebanese health authorities reported 31 fatalities and 149 injuries following Israeli retaliatory strikes. Southern Beirut saw the heaviest casualties.
Israel has accused Hezbollah of rebuilding military infrastructure in violation of prior ceasefire understandings reached in late 2024. Hezbollah, meanwhile, alleges continued Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
Heavy Casualties in Iran
International media outlets, citing Iranian agencies, report that coordinated US-Israeli airstrikes have targeted over 1,000 sites inside Iran. During the first 30 hours alone, more than 2,000 munitions were reportedly deployed.
Casualty figures remain contested. Iranian sources state that more than 200 people have been killed and over 740 injured. One particularly devastating strike reportedly hit a school complex, resulting in high civilian casualties. Independent verification of these claims remains difficult due to communication blackouts in certain regions.
Strikes were reported in multiple cities, including Sanandaj, where residential buildings near a police facility were damaged.
Death of Iran’s Supreme Leader and Succession Questions
Iranian state-linked media outlets reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during the first day of bombing on February 28. While Iranian authorities have yet to release full official confirmation internationally, internal political mechanisms appear to be moving forward.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi indicated that a new Supreme Leader could be selected within days. Reports suggest that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late leader, may emerge as a leading candidate.
Iran’s Assembly of Experts reportedly convened previously in confidential sessions to discuss succession planning. The outcome of leadership transition could significantly shape Iran’s military posture in the coming days.

Iran Expands Retaliation Across Region
Iran has launched missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and several Middle Eastern countries believed to host US military assets. Prior strikes reportedly targeted facilities in Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Jerusalem reported multiple explosions following missile alert sirens. Air defense systems intercepted several incoming threats, though damage assessments are ongoing.
Regional airspace disruptions have affected commercial aviation routes across the Gulf.
Strategic Analysis: Risk of Regional War
Security experts warn that the entry of Hezbollah significantly raises the stakes. If the conflict continues to escalate, additional regional actors could be drawn in.
The possibility of maritime disruption in the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on energy infrastructure has already impacted global oil markets. Financial markets reacted sharply as investors priced in geopolitical risk.
Diplomatic channels remain active, with backdoor negotiations reportedly underway through European intermediaries and Gulf states.
